The PASEO Festival

2025

The Paseo Project, Inc.

Commissioned for The PASEO 2025 Festival, The Valley of the Giants took to the road for their 2 day showcase in Taos, New Mexico. Despite the rain, The Valley of the Giants touched Taosian hearts and made spirits move—by Mari Hidalgo King and That They May Studio— nested neighborly to the Silent Disco in Red Willow Park's 19-acre park. A village of 15 foot inflatables serve as a physical manifestation of passage that viewers walked through over the course of 12 hours. Blending sculpture, sound, and motion, towering amorphous forms confront visitors with beauty, ambiguity, and awe. As ecological thresholds and migration pressures converge, a motor-like thrum engulfs and disorients, pulling your gaze upward and asking—friend or foe?—as you step into the unknown of traveling this valley of giants.
